Body Master is a science fiction romance set on Earth after an alien ship has crash-landed on the planet. The aliens have the ability to use human DNA to reproduce human bodies for themselves and they've used that ability to blend into the human population. Some want only to build new lives for themselves...some want to take over the world.
Max Dempsey is one of the former and he works his way into the organization tasked with finding and taking down the alien shape shifters who have begun killing humans so that he can find the alien shape shifter who killed his wife. He's paired up with Seneca Thomas, who comes across as a strong woman, a little afraid of being labeled as different and outcast because of her un-confessed ability to see the aliens and differentiate them from the humans around them. There's plenty of great tension between Seneca and Max and I have to admit that this book contains plenty of my favorite types of fiction: paranormal, science fiction, police procedural, steamy romance, complex plotting, good world-building, and plenty of room for future stories set in the same universe!
If you read only one science fiction romance this year, Body Master is the perfect choice. It doesn't disappoint.
