Book Review
Stay the night is a book that ends a series. Even though the book was entertaining enough to read to the end (which is certainly an accomplishment by the author), as a standalone romance the book didn't quite live up to my expectations and didn't encourage me to hunt up the other books in the series.
My lack of familiarity with many of the characters who were in this book probably contributed to the feeling of disconnect I had as I read, but even the lead characters seemed only secondary to some overarching plot.
As general fiction, the book and its plot seemed well done. Most of the sex in the book was descriptive, but I didn't find it very interesting or appealing.
I think my biggest problem with the book was how I felt after I finished reading it. The book did have a happy ending for the main characters of the story, but something was missing in the end. I didn't feel particularly hopeful or happy about many of the characters whose stories were continued in this book and who were apparently main characters in previous books in this series. I didn't have any excitement left for the story at the end. I didn't want to tell my friends about it.
Overall, this was an okay book by my standards, because I wouldn't have finished reading it if something hadn't kept me interested, but it wasn't great. You'll certainly want to read it if you've been following the series.
