Reading: Megan's Mark

Today, courtesy my two children (with my husband's help), I received two books off my Amazon wishlist for my birthday. Today is my birthday so I'm probably not going to have a lot of time to read, but I have managed to zip along to Chapter 3 of Megan's Mark by Lora Leigh. I've been wanting the chance to read these books, and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity finally!

Megan's Mark starts off with action—and I love it when an author gets right to the good stuff. :-)

I'll certainly put up a review when I'm done reading.

Here's an interesting bit of information. If you enjoy reading the Harlequin Blaze books as ebooks, you can get them as a bundle by the month of publication. It's a great way to save a few dollars (and trees). :-)

Sea Witch is calling to me

My copy of Sea Witch arrived the day before yesterday, but I'm holding off reading it because I am currently reading a book by a favorite author that I somehow, someway, missed reading. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about when I say that books by favorite authors always come first. In case you're interested, the book is After Glow by Jayne Castle. Not an erotic romance, but a great read nonetheless. Emmet is very sexy.

My hope is that once I read Sea Witch I'll have found another fav to add to my list. I've already slipped and read the first few chapters, because I couldn't wait to get a taste of the book. This is my first reading of novel length fiction from Virginia Kantra. I enjoyed her story in Shifter, which was the very first Virginia Kantra fiction I'd read. This one, so far, has proven to be exceptionally intriguing and I want to read more!

Of course I'll post a review the minute I finish reading it. :-)

When a book is so bad you can't stop reading

Okay, I don't usually do these kinds of posts. You know, the ones where we point our fingers and laugh at the horribleness of a book. (Pretend horribleness is a word…) However, I can't seem to help myself today. Read the rest of this entry »

Hardcover bargain for Sherrilyn Kenyon Dark-Hunter book

I ran across a good bargain at Amazon for a hardcover copy of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Side of the Moon here. Here's a direct link to Amazon for the book. You can get the hardcover cheaper than you can get the paperback. I'm sure they'll run out of copies soon, but I thought I would put it up anyway. I'm a huge fan of hardbacks—but I usually skip unless I can get them cheap.

Books I long for

I'm waiting, not quite with bated breath but close, on the publication of Sea Witch, by Virginia Kantra. I preordered the book and look forward to receiving it quickly after it's published. Amazon is good about that! I've never read a full-length novel written by her before, but I read her contribution to Shifter and thought I would enjoy this one. There was an excerpt in the back of that book for Sea Witch and it really caught my interest.

Another book I'm really interested in reading is Marie Donovan‘s Sex By the Numbers. Her Book of Pleasure was a great book and although I wasn't able to post a review at the time, I liked the book! I won't claim it's because by day I'm an accountant (only some days, luckily), although that's a true statement!

Reading: Dark Desires After Dusk

I just finished the unexpectedly early arrival Dark Desires After Dusk by Kresley Cole. I know I seem to be on a Cole kick lately, but it's really just because I only found the books a few months ago, and I got lucky enough to have found them just in time for several new additions to her Immortals After Dark series. :-)

This is one book that you shouldn't miss. Cadeon Woede is a very sexy demon—and I swear I've never been a fan of demons (I've always wondered: how in the world could a demon be sexy?!). I've discovered the secret. Name him Cadeon Woede, give him horns that grow when he's aroused, and give him a past that makes me want to weep for him. Then you have sexiness galore.

Of course, I'll be writing a review for the site, but I don't have time to do that tonight. :-) Later~

New (old) book on the way

Although I hadn't really planned to put out the money just yet when I already have so many good-looking books perched on my to-be-read pile, I gave in to a moment of weakness and ordered Playing Easy to Get. The book includes stories from Kresley Cole (the beginning of the Immortals After Dark series), Jaid Black (author of many a good hot story) and Sherrilyn Kenyon (author of the sexy Dark Hunter series). With these authors, I really don't think I can go wrong.

I was a little antsy about paying nearly $12 for an anthology, but damn, I'm addicted to the “Immortals After Dark”, and how could I possibly pass this one up now that I know it has the story of Nikolai Wroth and Myst the Coveted? I knew those two felt more like a stand-alone story than just a subplot to A Hunger Like No Other, but I let it slip right by me….

Amazon is my pal. They've even sent me an email saying the book has already shipped. :-)

Dark Needs at Night's Edge delivers

Alrighty then. Let me just say that I am thrilled to have spent too many hours today reading this book (Dark Needs at Night's Edge by Kresley Cole). The book delivered. In fact, of the entire series, I would have to say this one was the absolute best one yet. And from what I've read and intimated about the upcoming book, I expect it will be just as good or better.

Ms. Cole keeps delivering goodness!

My review will be online this week, of this and the other books in the series (when I get the new darned review page online which I am entirely ashamed to admit I forgot to finish creating before putting all the rest of the site database upgrades online—oh, and there are one or two others I forgot to finish too, but I won't mention them since the non-working links for those are a little harder to run across!).

Dark Needs at Night's Edge has arrived!

So, what am I reading? Guess. Really, you shouldn't have to think hard!

Dark Needs at Night's Edge arrived yesterday and I am just about to read the first chapter. I've snuck a peak of the first two pages and I'm already intrigued. A good author is the kind who can catch you in that first page and not let you go until you've put down the book, if even then. Kresley Cole fits the bill with this Immortals After Dark series. I admit I haven't read any of her other books, but these are wonderful reads!

Here's looking forward to another great reading experience~see ya!

[Edit] I meant to mention that the book was waiting for me yesterday when I got home from Amazon because I had preordered it. A preorder—I must have really loved those other books, you think?
