Reading: Shifter (anthology)
I'm reading Shifter, a Berley Sensation paranormal romance anthology (March 2008), which contains stories by Angela Knight, Lora Leigh, Alyssa Day and Virginia Kantra. I've only made it into the second story, A Jaguar's Kiss by Lora Leigh, but it was torture to put the book down. There are things I must do today, and that means I can't spend the day reading which is too, too bad, because I could easily read this book in one sitting (especially if the next two stories are as good as the first two).
In Mad Dog Love, Angela Knight introduced me to Zarifa Lorezo of the Lorezostellar Empire and Rance Conlan, a Freeworlds rebel who just happens to be a technologically-based version of a werewolf. The strength of the science-fiction foundation of the story intigued me, and for such a short story, Angela Knight managed to get in plenty of plot and intrigue. Mad Dog Love cruised between paranormal romance and science fiction and I loved every moment of it.
A Jaguar's Kiss, on the other hand, is all about the heat of a good mating story. The focus is without a doubt the paranormal romance elements and I can't wait to see how this one plays out.
I'll check in later and fill in all the details. :-)
Also, I have a couple of reviews in the works for the Kresley Cole books I recently finished reading. Good stuff. I can't wait to talk about them!
I love discussion, so feel free to comment on these or any other related books. I would love recommendations for the Lora Leigh Breeds stories.
